Meet Evelyn, who joined VCRC in April 2024, who has a passion for empowering young minds. With a background in tutoring at the Umoja Program and the Tutoring Club I’ve honed my skills in fostering reading comprehension and literacy from kindergarten to 12th grade. As an instructor for After School programs, I’ve led engaging book clubs and STEM initiatives, inspiring a love for learning beyond the classroom. Driven by a deep-seated belief in the power of education to transform lives, I’m dedicated to bridging the gap for kids burdened from low socioeconomic backgrounds by providing tailored support and mentorship to help every child reach their full potential. Currently I’m pursuing an associate degree in Chemical Engineering and I’m scheduled to graduate in 2025.
