Andrea De La Cruz Palma
Andrea grew up in Oakley as a first generation and comes from a Mexican background. She attended Gehringer Elementary and Delta Vista Middle School, where she received Soroptimist of the Year at the end of her middle school journey in 2018. She currently attends Freedom High School as a senior.
At Freedom High School she founded the American Sign Language Club. For the club she runs the meetings and teaches other students about the importance of the Deaf community. Andrea took courses at Los Medanos College where she gained the skill of sign language and passed it among her classmates in the club.
With her dedication to helping the community she is also part of Oakley Youth Advisory Council. Andrea joined back in May 2018 and is currently active as the Vice President. She is really passionate about helping the community and wants to contribute with the children’s academic goals and passions.
