Guadalupe Zuniga – After School Academy Lead Site Instructor, Byron
We are excited to welcome Lupita to be part of our team at VCRC. Born in El Distrito Federal Mexico. Lupita moved to Concord at the age of 6, where she learned English and sign language. She has been volunteering for Contra Costa Communities since she was 7 years old. She volunteered all throughout elementary school to highschool, becoming one of the youngest health promoters in 2013, as well as volunteering for programs such as anti bullying and healthy eating campaigns for children ages 4-12. She has studied community health worker and resource activists, learned about the importance of mental health in all age groups and volunteered in many different non profit organizations. Lupita’s focus is on behavioral analysis, where she one day hopes to work with children of special need while she is currently in school at DVC. She moved to the city of Antioch in 2020, where she continued to help in her community and while attending many events in the community she found VCRC and decided that she would love to be part of the community and what we stand for. Being a young and single mom was what inspired her to continue helping her community and helping bilingual and biracial children, as well as helping the parents in our community to take advantage of all of our resources.
